Contrary to popular belief, posture is controlled by your brain.
The postural control centres in the brain span 2 areas primarily: The cerebellum and the brainstem. They manage to keep us upright, balanced against gravity, by constantly checking sensors that detect feedback from our body and environment.
Amongst other things, these include: how our weight is distributed on our feet, visual cues like our horizon/horizontal landscape features, what our inbuilt spirit level (the vestibular system) detects is happening to our head position and what direction our body is traveling in.
Instead of simply standing up straight and pinning your shoulders back, Posturology systematically assesses and calibrates these sensors to give you both instant and longterm changes in your posture, by subconsciously orientating your body in space.
